Abstract

The aim of this study is to determine the perceptions of primary school (8- year compulsory primary education school) teachers about inspection. A total of 352 teachers from 48 primary schools in the center of Diyarbakır were included in the study. As a result of the data analysis, a significant difference was found between the teachers of the first and secondlevels of the primary schools. Teachers working at the first level agreed with the inspection behaviour "rarely" whereas the second level teachers agreed with the same behavior "at a middle degree". No significant correlation was found between the perception of male and female teachers about the inspection of lessons and it is claimed that both groups agreed with the behaviour "rarely".
