Abstract

The purpose of this study is to adapt “Online Information Seeking Inventory”, developed by Tsai (2009), to Turkish and provide validity and reliability of the Turkish form. The Study group is consisted of 788 people who responded the online survey either pencil-paper based or web based. After translating studies to provide language equivalency, first and second order confirmatory factor analyses were conducted for validity and cronbach alpha coefficient and McDonald’s omega were calculated for reliability evidences. As the result of confirmatory factor analysis, confirmatory model of inventory that comprised of totally 25 items and 7 factors (“disorientation”, “evaluation”, “purposeful thinking”, “select main ideas”, “trial & error”, “control” and “problem”) was found to be well fit. Cronbach alpha coefficient was found .910 and McDonald ω(omega) which is proposed as being more appropriate for congeneric measurement was found .942.
